Dr. Saad, a retired pediatric surgeon, has always been highly regarded as one of the top pediatric surgeons in the world. There are many reasons that this is so, but his medical inventions have also played an important role in his treatment of his young patients. Having performed hundreds to thousands of surgeries, Dr. Saad could see the need for changes along the way. Could it be that surgeries could be performed with a less invasive approach? This was his goal.
Dr. Saad’s focus was to improve existing methods and to challenge the way these procedures were being performed. Taking existing methods and improving them could make surgery less invasive and make it less painful as well. Dr. Saad pursued improving two major procedures, on which was able to obtain patents. He was consistently called upon to perform complex procedures, both for patients in the community and outside the community. It became abundantly clear that Dr. Saad was now the pediatric surgeon of choice. His journey included medical missions, where he helped those in need without receiving any form of payment for them. Traveling to the Holy Land, Dr. Saad was able to help children that were from poor families, unable to pay for good medical treatment or surgical procedures in a traditional hospital setting.
Over the years, one of the improvements that Dr. Saad worked on was creating an easier way to use catheters. This also included a way for the catheter to be found without using a machine scan on the patient’s body. He worked relentlessly to find ways that would not only improve the process for the patients, but for himself as well. His development of a device that would help to locate catheters was now a big winner for him, other doctors, and the patients. The ability to avoid using an xray machine or MRI machine would not only make it easier for all involved, but this would also make this process cost effective. MRI machines and xrays can be expensive. With the new device developed by Dr. Saad, finding a catheter would take less time, also making it possible to get through procedures much quicker. Ara Chackerian is the managing partner in ASC Capital Holdings, LLC., which has established itself as a leading investor in early-stage healthcare companies. He also is heavily involved as a co-founder in TMS Healthcare Solutions. This company has been instrumental in establishing transcranial treatments for those who are afflicted with depression that is resistant to treatment.
One of the things that Ara Chackerian Focuses on would be out-of-the-box solutions for these often-overlooked medical problems. For example, at TMS Healthcare they desire to treat the whole person, not just their depression. One of the ways they accomplish this would be through social media and cell phone apps. They also attempt to foster a collaborative environment with highly-trained positions and full attention to detail in every aspect right down to the design of their building. For Ara Chackerian, It was important to ensure that every patient does not get the feeling they are going to yet another doctor. Instead, Ara Desires patients to feel they are going to a place of Serenity and relaxation. In his experience, it is crucial for those with psychiatric disorders to have this feeling.
Besides his business interests, Ara Chackerian also has a deep desire to give back. he currently sits on the board of directors for the Nor Luyce mentoring center, based in Armenia. This current philanthropic project serves as a mentoring program for Young Armenian women who are looking to transition into adulthood. The idea to establish this charity was born in 2009 when Ara and his father Richard visited the country that Richard’s father emigrated from to the United States.
There is no question that Ara Chackerian sleeps quite well at night simply because of the fact that where most people are only able to give back in one area, Ara is able to do it and two areas – both in his healthcare investment endeavors and in his charitable activities as well.
